A paver chamfer is a slope or rounding along the top edge of the paver. It affects not only the appearance of the pavement but also practical operational factors—the convenience for pedestrians and cyclists, noise levels when driving, and paver maintenance. In the Brikers range, you will find 3 different types of paver chamfers:
Classic – a standard chamfer that creates a classic, structured pattern and emphasizes each paver individually. When moving with strollers, rollerblades, or shopping carts, vibration and louder noise can be felt. Car driving creates an audible hum. Dirt, sand, and weed seeds accumulate more easily in the joints, which can prolong cleaning.
Modern – a contemporary, smooth overall look with fine, less noticeable lines. It ensures a much quieter and more pleasant movement. It reduces vibration for strollers and significantly reduces tire noise. Less dirt accumulates in the joints, making daily sweeping and maintenance simpler.
Comfort – without a chamfer, a perfectly monotonic, almost seamless surface—ideally suited for modern architecture. Maximum movement comfort and complete silence. It is the most comfortable surface for pedestrians in high heels, wheelchairs, scooters, and bicycles. The easiest surface to maintain.
